PROFILE

Jeanelle completed her In-Service training with the firm in March 2018, just prior to her being called to the bar of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago in May 2018. She was appointed Associate in the Dispute & Risk Management Department where she spent her first four (4) years at the firm. During this time, her areas of practice included general corporate and commercial litigation, medical negligence, employment law, commercial debt collection and personal injury. She was responsible for drafting court documents including Pleadings, Witness Statements, Applications and Affidavits, practicing as Second Chair/Instructing Attorney in matters before the High Court and Industrial Court and advising and engaging in negotiations and settlement discussions. Jeanelle is now a member of the firm’s Transactional Department where she assists with banking and financing transactions, mergers and acquisitions, merger control and corporate, commercial and business transactions.

CURRENT INVOLVEMENT

  • Providing corporate commercial advice to local and multinational companies on a range of commercial issues.
  • Assisting with banking and finance transactions.
  • Assisting with mergers and acquisitions involving regional companies.
  • Advising multinational companies on local merger control and competition law as it relates to foreign-to-foreign transactions.
  • General research and legal opinions.
